URL Submission & SSRF Defense
When you submit a link, our edge server executes an asynchronous DNS lookup and IP validation test. It rejects any request targeting private networks (RFC 1918), loopback, link-local addresses, or cloud metadata endpoints (169.254.169.254).
Metadata Probe (yt-dlp)
Our backend spawns yt-dlp with the safe argument array `['-J', '--no-playlist', '--skip-download']`. This extracts the media title, author, duration, and full format list without downloading the media, returning available resolutions in milliseconds.
Adaptive Merging & Transcoding (FFmpeg)
High-definition video (1080p) is frequently served by hosts as separate video and audio streams. When you click Download, our worker downloads both streams into a secured temporary folder and uses FFmpeg to mux them into a single, clean MP4 file (or transcode to 320kbps MP3).
Direct Stream Delivery
As soon as the file is ready, it is streamed directly to your browser with appropriate Content-Disposition attachment headers, allowing instant saving to your device storage or camera roll.
Automatic Ephemeral Cleanup
Temporary directories and media files are scheduled for immediate removal upon completed delivery. A background garbage collector automatically purges any unconsumed jobs older than 10 minutes.
Our Privacy & Integrity Pledge
- No IP Retention: We do not store persistent records connecting your IP address to specific download links or files.
- Zero Ad Trackers: No marketing pixels, third-party cookies, or invasive canvas/hardware fingerprinting.
- Ephemeral Media Storage: All converted media files are permanently purged immediately after streaming or within 10 minutes maximum.
- 30-Day Technical Telemetry: Non-invasive reliability metrics (extractor success, chosen format, device category) are retained for 30 days solely to monitor pipeline uptime and detect platform player breakages.
